Why We Are Confusing To Men

Just listen to this... it can be so true and I can see why guys have a tough time understanding us.

"I AM...
I am a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a niece, a cousin and a friend.
I am a partner, a student, a young girl, and a grown woman. I am confident and scared, terrified and excited. I am loving and caring and thoughtful and hopeful. I am sick and tired. I am shy and friendly and careful and careless. I am broken and whole. I am Misunderstood, misguided and mislead. I am hard working and determined, but a little scared on the inside.
I wish on stars and dream my dreams. I pray to God and cry my tears. I smile on the outside, while I'm dying on the inside. I listen to others who won't listen to me. I walk on eggshells and I walk on fire. I believe in Passion but not true love. I love you and I push you away. I want you but not so close. I am everything and nothing all at once. And all I want is for you to love me."

Reminder For the Girl

I read this somewhere, not sure who wrote it, but I think it's important for girls to remember.

"You won't be his first, his last or his only.
He's loved before, he will love again.
But if he loves you now then what else matters?
He's not perfect and neither are you
And the two of you will never be perfect
But if he makes you laugh at least once
Causes you to think twice and admits to being human
and making mistakes....
Hold on to him with all you've got
He's not going to quote poetry
He's not going to be thinking about you every moment
But he will give you a part of him
that he knows you can break
Don't hurt him
Don't change him
Don't expect too much from him
Smile when he makes you happy
Cry when he makes you sad
and miss him when he's not there..."

The Search For Ever After

Reality is more interesting than ever after. Ever after only exists in fairy tales, and fairy tales don’t happen in real life. Is this true? The thought of a soul mate seems unbearably ridiculous. With so many people in the world, and individual free agency, there can be no such thing as a soul mate. So why do people continue to search?

We build ourselves up to believe that there is more to a person than what is really there. Is a knight in shining armor really all that it’s cracked up to be? There are some who will not look in the direction of a man, because he is visually not the idealized type; but could he really be a knight? What is a type? Some women prefer a tall blond with muscle as fine and hard as steel. Men, desire a woman to look after, someone to support whereas the woman seeks her freedom yet wonders why the man leaves; though it’s not the case for all.

The Old Maid’s Club is a joining of independent women who want to be loved. They are all over the age of 25 and have never tasted ever after. These women live in reality, yet know that an ever after exists. No fairy tale is without fault, though it is desperately sought. Within their hearts is a yearning for truth. Truth from what, you may ask; truth that there is someone out there for them.

I’m not saying that it’s wrong for a woman to seek out a companion; someone that she sees as perfect, or to have an ideal mate in mind. Critics claim that movies and books create an unrealistic sense of reality. But what is so wrong with wanting a man who loves as strong as Mr. Darcy, he is not intimidated by intelligence but holds an immense amount of respect for Elizabeth and to know when he makes a mistake and corrects his errors in order to make right. Or perhaps, the infamous Edward Cullen who devotes his existence to Bella, sure he at times seems a bit controlling; but it’s the way he makes her feel, he entraps her with mystique and respect. Edwards is engrossed with intrigue for her, he wants to know what she thinks and he shows her another world.

After thinking much on my first sentence “Reality is much more interesting than ever after” and by ever after I refer to fairy tales… do you ever think that perhaps we all live within our own fairy tale? That perhaps this life in which we live in is just a mere speckle of our existence, well I never think it… I just know it! And though we may never find someone to love here in this existence, there is still hope in the next stage of life. We the people were never meant to be alone. Isn’t it great to know that our Heavenly Father loves us that much!!!!
